 The earthen xun is one of the oldest wind musical instruments in China.Archaeological studies indicate that some 8,000 years ago,the earthen xun was a hunting weapon.By the Shang(17th-11th century B.C.)under the rule of King Yin,the xun was made exquisitely from stone,bone or ivory.By the Zhou(11th entury-256 B.C.),xun became a special wind instrument in the Chinese concert.
